Giuliana and Bill Rancic are expecting their first child.
The ‘E! News’ anchor – who underwent a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer last year – and her entrepreneur and TV presenter husband will welcome the baby in late summer via a gestational surrogate, meaning the child will be their genetic child.
Speaking on the ‘Today’ show, Giuliana, 37, said: ‘We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered. It was one of the best moments of my life, if not the best moment of my life. It’s incredible. We’ve been trying for so long, we’ve been through so much … And to finally get that call from the doctor, it was just another world, another level.’
Bill, 40, added: ‘It was pretty emotional because this was our last stop.’
The couple’s struggles to conceive have been well documented, with Guiliana undergoing several rounds of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and a miscarriage before the cancer was discovered during a mammogram ordered by her fertility doctor and Bill hopes their story will inspire others to turn ‘negatives into positives’.
He said: ‘One of the things we’ve always tried to do is help others with our story. Whether it’s with the infertility issues, whether it’s with the breast cancer, we said we’re gonna turn these negatives into positives. And if we can help others by sharing our story, then it’s worth it.’
Although they know the sex of the baby, the couple are trying to keep it a secret for as long as possible.
Giuliana said: ‘We know, but we’re not telling anyone yet. We’re seeing how long we can keep it a secret, so we haven’t told anyone yet.’

Surprise: Robert De Niro a dad again — at 68!
Merry Christmas and baby joy! Robert De Niro, 68, is a daddy again.
The critically-acclaimed actor and his wife, former model Grace Hightower, 56, just announced some happy holiday news: They’re welcoming a daughter to their family.
Helen Grace Hightower — a healthy 7-pound, 2-ounce baby girl — was born to the couple via a surrogate mother earlier this month, according to De Niro’s rep.
Baby Helen is the second child for Robert and Grace, who first met in London in 1987. Their eldest, a son named Elliot, was born in March 1998.
De Niro and his first wife, Diahnne Abbott, have a son, Raphael. He’s a former actor who now works in new York real estate.
The star adopted Drena De Niro, Abbott’s daughter from a previous relationship.
De Niro is also dad to twin sons with his ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith, another former model. Julian Henry and Aaron Kendrik were conceived by in vitro fertilization and delivered by a surrogate mother in 1995.
