LEOMINSTER – Eight years ago Fidelity Bank’s Chairman and CEO Ed Manzi announced the creation of the Shine Initiative, whose mission is to raise funds and develop resources in support of mental health research, education, public policy and programming.
Five years ago the bank introduced a signature annual fundraiser called “keep Your Mind Open”, which features a golf-like theme, but without a day spent on the golf course. Instead, friends and supporters gather directly at the 19th hole – namely the Four Points Sheraton in Leominster – to “shine a light on mental illness.”
On Thursday, Nov. 3rd, beginning at 5 p.m., Fidelity Bank and the Shine Initiative will host the fifth annual “keep Your Mind Open” featuring humor with Jim Colliton, celebration of local achievements of Dr. Daniel M. Asquino and Sharyn Rice, dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a live and silent auction featuring dozens of outstanding items for bid, ranging from golf and ski packages, vacation at a Florida condominium, jewelry, restaurant certificates, to merchandise.
The grand prize winner of a one-week trip to Aruba (includes round-trip airfare and accommodations at La Cabana Beach & Racquet
Club), will be drawn. And a minimum $1,000 prize will be awarded to the winner of the Shine’s “Money Tree” raffle.
Tickets for “keep Your Mind Open”, which includes a Caribbean-themed buffet, can be purchased by calling Maedon Coburn at (978) 660-5423, or by e-mailing .
