It looks like actor Joey Lawrence is doing his part to supportAdopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month.

The “Melissa & Joey” star found a new canine friend whilefilming a movie in Australia.

According to this article from PeoplePets.com, Lawrencestopped by a shelter while taking a break and fell in love with afemale black Labrador-Australian heeler mix.

And the actor simply couldn’t come back to the States withouther.

Lawrence spent close to $1000 to have the dog transported backto Los Angeles.  the dog had to be shipped to a special hanger inLAX and the actor had to deal with some red tape before bringingthe pooch home.

But once the dog, now named Tiffany, arrived, she fit in nicelywith the star’s other dog, a golden retriever named Dakota.
