How to Get Rid of Japanese Hornets

Hornets are insects that are closely related to bees; they even look like large mutated bees if you will observe. Japanese hornets are the largest all the species of hornets around the world reaching up to more than 2 inches in length. These hornets are found in Japan, Taiwan, China, India, Sri Lanka, Mongolia and even Russia and have cause so much damage in these countries.

If Japanese hornets start to build a hive close to your home, it is important to get rid of them as fast as you can because they can endanger the welfare of your family. Attacks from hornets can be very fatal to a person; their sting can cause allergic reactions which can constrict the airway and they release enzymes capable of damaging bone and soft tissues. to get rid of these insects you must:

  • Clear your area of their food sources. Japanese hornets are very attracted to human food and garbage. Practicing proper disposal of wastes and covering your trash bin will cut down their food forces by a majority. this technique is not just a tactic to get rid of them but also a preventive measure for them not to build a hive near your home.
  • Trap them. there are a number of styles to trap these insects but only two are proven to be very effective. The first one is the pale trap or bucket trap which is available for sale in the hardware, but if you want to save money, just partially fill your pale or bucket with water with sugar, vinegar and a little dish washing soap. The smell of the sugar and vinegar will entice the hornets while the dish washing soap somehow straps them and they will drown in the bucket eventually. The second trap is what they call the queen trap. this trap will entice the queen and eventually causing its death. to make queen trap, get 1.5 or 2 liter soda bottle and cut it open pour some water inside then place a slice of meat and hang it just above the water level. place this trap near the hive that queen will approach the meat and will soon drown because of the lack of exit points.
  • Use sprays. a lot of insecticides that can kill Japanese hornet are available in the hardware or the supermarket. Properly mix these insecticides and test the spray before going into the bottle. Use protective clothing like mask, gloves, headgear, long sleeve shirt and long pants plus closed shoes. do the attack at night when the hornets are inside their hive resting. Before spraying, find the entrance to the hive which is usually located near the bottom. Spray the insecticide directly into the entrance.
  • Call the expert. After your attack on the hive using spray insecticides assess in the morning for any activity in the hive. If the hornets are still alive and kicking, it is time to call the pest control experts and let them take from the on.

Chris Paul is a high caliber point guard who has developed a multi-dimensional game that puts him above everyone else. at any point, Chris Paul is able to change the direction of a game. he was named Rookie of the Year in 2006. he is a four time All-Star, two time NBA All-Defensive team selection and two time All-NBA selection. his numbers as it relates to points, assists and steals are rivaled to the best in the game’s history and in the current NBA. he became the face of the franchise, but Paul would be traded to the Los Angeles Clippers prior to the 2011-12 season.
