Chrissy Teigen During, The famous singer proposed to his girlfriend, Chrissy Teigen during a recent vacation this holiday.Legend, 32, popped the question and gave Teigen quite the Christmas present, while the two were vacationing in the Maldives this past week.

“John Legend and his girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, got engaged over the holidays while vacationing in the Maldives,” his rep later confirmed to People saying.

The two have reportedly been dating four years.

“Thanks for all the well wishes everybody.” Legend later tweeted.

Teigen, 26, also took to Twitter to comment, confirming, “we are and thank you.”

Legend has released four albums, winning nine Grammys while Teigen is best known for modeling in “Deal or No Deal” and for Sports Illustrated. According to the associated Press, she was named “rookie of the year” in the Sports Illustrated’s annual swimsuit issue last year.

Engagement rings seem to have been a popular gift this holiday season, as quite a few celebrity couples announced recent engagements. Singer John Legend and his girlfriend Chrissy Teigen are the newest couple to be included in this category: People reports that two got engaged while vacationing during the holidays.

“John Legend and his girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, got engaged over the holidays while vacationing in the Maldives,” Legend’s rep, Cindi Berger, told People. no additional details were however given at the time regarding the couple’s engagement.

Chrissy Teigen is best known for her modeling career, including her work as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. The couple had been dating since 2007.

In an interview with People last may, Legend explained that the two completed each other, even when it came to simple things like tossing some clothes on. “We were together when we picked out our clothes today. She’s better [at it]. It’s harder to dress a woman — there are so many options and accessories. For guys we only have so many elements.”

People reports that John Legend will be in Las Vegas on new Year’s Eve to perform at The Pearl at the Palms. The singer is currently working on material for his upcoming fifth studio album.
